The coordinator of the Left Bloc (BE), Mariana Mortágua, took to social media this Friday to address a publication made by the Chega leader, André Ventura.
“It seems that Ventura decided to share videos that manipulate my words to make me say things I never said,” wrote the Left Bloc leader in a post shared on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
“Lies from the extreme right are not new, but now it’s Ventura’s official account releasing an obviously fake video,” she added.
In the same post, Mortágua also shared a video in which she stated, “André Ventura decided to share a video on social media that fakes my voice, making me say things I never said.”
The Left Bloc leader further noted that Chega has brought “dirty politics” and “manipulation” to “deceive people and change their opinions.”

“It is a falsified content and they know it is falsified. I must say that neither I nor the Bloc will participate in this kind of politics,” she continued, stating that she has “good arguments” on her side when it comes to defending human rights.
“The foreigner’s law that the PSD made with Chega violates human rights. The foreigner’s law violates the right to family. We reject this opportunistic and cruel way of doing politics and also reject their methods,” she concluded.
