The Pontal Festival will be held, as is tradition, on the promenade of Quarteira (municipality of Loulé) and will feature a performance by musician Toy following the political speeches.
Speeches will be delivered by the leader of PSD/Algarve and candidate for the Faro City Hall, Cristóvão Norte, along with the party’s president and Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro.
About two weeks later, on August 31, Montenegro will close the party’s Summer University, a youth training initiative held since 2003 and promoted jointly by PSD, JSD, the Francisco Sá Carneiro Institute, and the European People’s Party.
For a week, from August 25 to 31, in Castelo de Vide (Portalegre), around a hundred young people aged between 18 and 30 will receive “lessons” from PSD members, independents, and even figures from other parties on various topics.
This year’s program will only be released in mid-August.
Last year’s speakers included former PSD president and now presidential candidate Luís Marques Mendes, European Commissioner Maria Luís Albuquerque, MEP Sebastião Bugalho, and several ministers, such as Paulo Rangel, Margarida Balseiro Lopes, and Pedro Duarte, who did not join the second AD administration to run for the Porto City Council presidency.
The 2025 Summer University will take place about a month before the start of the municipal election campaign, scheduled for October 12, and five months before the presidential elections in January 2026.
