Bomb threat on SATA flight forces emergency landing in Lisbon

A bomb threat forced an emergency landing of a SATA airline plane at Figo Maduro Airport in Lisbon this Saturday. The aircraft was en route to Bilbao, Spain.

Several fire departments were summoned to the scene, receiving the alert around 12:50 p.m. The plane landed at approximately 1:15 p.m.

Police authorities are also on-site conducting an evaluation.

The incident, initially classified as a red alert, has been downgraded to orange.

Passengers were evacuated from the aircraft, and authorities have ruled out the presence of explosives inside.

Notícias ao Minuto contacted the Metropolitan Command of Lisbon’s Public Security Police (PSP), which has not provided further information as investigations are ongoing.
