Flight from Porto made an emergency landing in Brazil. Pilot felt unwell.

A plane that departed on Friday from Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport in Porto, bound for Campinas, Brazil, made an emergency landing after crossing the ocean.

Brazilian reports on Saturday indicate that the flight involved was operated by Azul Linhas Aéreas, which diverted to Recife, Brazil, due to one of the pilots feeling unwell.

In a statement cited by the press, the Brazilian airline explained that the immediate diversion was necessary to ensure the quickest possible medical attention.

“Azul regrets any inconvenience and stresses that such measures are necessary to ensure the safety of its operations, a core value for the company,” the statement reads, as reported by the publications.

According to explanations, the emergency landing occurred around 5 p.m. local time (9 p.m. in Porto), and the aircraft resumed its initial journey about an hour and a half following the emergency landing.

Some passengers reportedly shared their experiences on social media, according to UOL, and the landing was smooth with everything proceeding calmly.
