A 55-year-old man was arrested by the Public Security Police (PSP) last Thursday, July 24, in Odivelas, on suspicion of possessing a prohibited weapon.
In a statement, the PSP noted that on March 20, a man called an Uber to “travel to his residence in the Sintra area.”
“During the journey, the driver displayed an apparent firearm and stated that he carried it for self-defense against potential criminal actions by clients,” the statement added.
After an investigation and the execution of a search warrant, two airsoft guns, an airgun, a telescopic baton, a defense spike, a tactical knife used for self-defense—also usable as a knuckle duster—and two interior gun holsters were seized.

The arrested individual was brought before the judiciary for an initial judicial interrogation, after which the case was “referred for further inquiry.”
