A woman has been left homeless following a fire that is blazing through a forested area in the Nisa municipality of Portalegre district, leading to the partial evacuation of a village, according to Civil Protection sources.
A source from the Alto Alentejo Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command informed the Lusa agency that the house was located in the village of Vinagra, and it’s unclear whether it was completely or partially burned.
The same source added that strong winds, dispersed resources, and the terrain’s topography are hindering firefighting efforts.
