Vagos becomes the “capital of metal” between today and Sunday with Metal Fest

The eighth edition of the festival kicks off today and spans four days, featuring performances by German band Destruction, Irish group Gama Bomb, and Swedish band Candlemass, who are celebrating 40 years, with a notable appearance by American band P.O.D.

On Friday, the headliners are local favorites Moonspell, joined by American bands Dying Fetus and Warbringer, Italian group Rhapsody of Fire, Spanish metal band Angelus Apatrida, and Portuguese act Hills Have Eyes.

Saturday’s lineup highlights punk and hardcore bands, including Portugal’s Mata-Ratos, Britain’s The Exploited, and America’s Black Flag, featuring original guitarist Greg Ginn alongside Max Zanelly on vocals, David Rodriguez on bass, and Bryce Weston on drums.

The highlight on Saturday is Norway’s Mayhem, celebrating 40 years with a setlist of songs never performed live before, as the “De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas” group announced last year.

On Sunday, standout acts include Polish band Decapitated, Norway’s Gorgoroth, and American band Hatebreed.

Ticket prices start from 69 euros for daily entry or 125 euros for a four-day pass. Children up to 11 years old can enter for free, and there is a 50% discount for people with reduced mobility.

The festival is set to return in 2026, scheduled for August 7th, 8th, and 9th, with Godsmack announced as one of the headliners.
