“The Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) approved, following a public consultation process, the Guide for Measurement, Reading, and Data Availability in the electricity sector, which has been simplified and adapted to recent technologies,” it announced in a statement.
This guide, now extended to cover the Azores and Madeira, regulates how data on consumption and network injection are measured, read, processed, and made available, “namely for billing access charges and market participation purposes.”
The regulator specified that activities involving production, storage, aggregation, and the operation of closed distribution networks are also included in the guide.
This document also covers the topic of personal data protection, which, according to ERSE, has been systematized and aligned with the broader regulatory framework.
