The fire in the municipality of Ponte da Barca, in Viana do Castelo, remained active as of 08:10 AM, with two active fronts, according to a source from the Alto Minho sub-regional command.
The exact localities affected by the fire could not be identified at that time.
As of that morning, 607 personnel were battling the flames, supported by 201 vehicles and one aerial unit.
The fire broke out a week ago and has already consumed more than 6,000 hectares of the Peneda-Gerês National Park (PNPG).
