Iniciativa Liberal (IL) criticized the Portuguese Government on Saturday, questioning how it is possible to govern without data and emphasizing that “anything that cannot be measured cannot be managed.”
“The Government does not know. How is it possible to govern without data? And how many more years does the Government need to obtain the necessary information for the implementation of public policies? This will be the measure of its incompetence,” read a post shared by the party on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
Iniciativa Liberal advocates for a policy based on numbers: “What cannot be measured cannot be managed.”
The text includes an image titled “National Governance Exam.” The first question posed is “Number of firefighters the country has?” with a mark on the answer “don’t know.”
For “Number of aerial resources in fighting fires?”, the response is “Irrelevant.” Subsequent questions regarding the number of immigrants in Portugal, the number of students without teachers, and “State vacant buildings” all have “don’t know” marked as answers.
O GOVERNO NÃO SABE
Como é possível governar sem dados? E de quantos mais anos precisa o governo para conseguir ter a informação necessária para a aplicação de políticas públicas? Esta será a medida da sua incompetência.
