
Miguel Fonseca reported a shift in wind direction and increased intensity, with the fire advancing on two fronts with considerable intensity in an area of mature pine forest.
The commander also stated that the villages of Anta and Garganta are of particular concern, leading to concentrated resources in these areas.
Civil Protection sources in Sabrosa noted that, as a precaution, residents of the village of Garganta have been gathered in the village center, and the fire is moving towards other locations such as São Martinho de Anta and Arcã.
According to the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) website, at 19:15, there were 251 personnel, 70 vehicles, and 11 aircraft deployed to combat the fire.
The fire alert was issued at 14:23 in the São Cibrão area, Vila Real municipality, and has since progressed to Sabrosa.
