On Saturday morning, a collision between a vehicle and a bicycle in Carvide, in the municipality of Leiria, resulted in the death of a woman who was riding the bicycle.
The local newspaper Região de Leiria identified the deceased as Ana Lúcia Bento, 46, the executive director at Inocos Cosmetics and Inocos Academy, a cosmetics company.
The same source noted that the businesswoman was passionate about sports and practiced various disciplines.
It is also noteworthy that Ana Lúcia Bento was on the candidate list for the Iniciativa Liberal (IL) in the Union of Parishes of Marrares and Barbosa as an independent in the municipal elections.
Iniciativa Liberal took to social media to express “heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.”

The Sub-regional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection of the Leiria Region informed the Lusa agency that the alert was received at 9:45 a.m. and that death was declared at the scene, on Avenida Tenente-Coronel Joaquim Duarte Alves.
The source stated that the emergency response involved eight operational staff and two ambulances from the Vieira de Leiria Volunteer Firefighters, an Emergency and Resuscitation Medical Vehicle (VMER), and a GNR vehicle.

The alert was given at 9:45 a.m., and the death was declared at the scene, on Avenida Tenente-Coronel Joaquim Duarte Alves.
