
A fisherman experiencing “severe chest pain” was rescued on the morning of Sunday, August 3, approximately five nautical miles (around nine kilometers) from the port of Peniche.
The National Maritime Authority (AMN) reported that the alert was received at 10:48, indicating the “need for a medical evacuation of a fisherman.”
Personnel from the Peniche Lifeboat Station, members of the ‘SeaWatch’ project, and INEM were mobilized.
At the scene, the victim was “assisted and evacuated to the port of Peniche and was subsequently transported by INEM to a hospital unit.”
