The fire that broke out early this morning in the municipality of Fafe, Braga district, forcing the closure of Highway 7 (A7), is now under control, according to the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC).
The ANEPC website reports that the fire, which began at 03:44 a.m. in São Gens, Fafe, is now in a “resolution phase.”
The blaze consumed shrubland and led to the closure of the A7 in both directions, between Fafe and Basto in the municipality of Cabeceiras de Basto, as well as National Road (EN) 206.
As of 12:30 p.m., 103 personnel remained on the ground, supported by 34 vehicles.
