A 22-year-old man was detained at Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado Airport last Thursday, July 31, by the Airport Security and Border Control Division of the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the Public Security Police (PSP).
In a statement, the PSP indicated that the suspect was subject to “procedural investigations” and it was later discovered that an active International Arrest Warrant had been issued against him by Interpol.
The charges involved an accusation of murder that allegedly took place in the French city of Cannes.
The young man attempted to flee upon realizing he was going to be detained, but was unsuccessful.
He was taken into custody at the detention facilities of the Lisbon Metropolitan Command (Cometlis) of the PSP and will appear before the Lisbon Court of Appeal.
