A fire in Alto Alentejo was reported at 11:58 a.m. and declared extinguished by 12:41 p.m., according to the Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command. The two-story house, where a woman resided, was vacant at the time of the blaze.
The upper floor was completely destroyed, including the roof, while the ground floor remained undamaged.
The resident has been displaced and has received emergency accommodation at the Santa Eulália home, confirmed the command.
The incident required the deployment of 19 personnel and seven vehicles, involving firefighters, GNR, and Elvas Municipal Civil Protection Service.
