The Territorial Command of Portalegre by the GNR announced in a statement that an arrest was made on Wednesday by the NIAVE (Nucleus for Investigation and Support for Specific Victims).
During a domestic violence investigation, the officers conducted police procedures and found that “the suspect was committing physical and psychological violence against the victim,” leading to his arrest.
The man appeared at the Judicial Court of Ponte de Sor, where several coercive measures were imposed, including the prohibition of contacting the victim by any means.
The accused is also prohibited from approaching the victim’s residence or workplace and other places frequented by the victim, within a 500-meter radius, monitored by an electronic bracelet.
