
By 9:30 PM, the ANEPC website reported that the fire which began Friday afternoon in Alvite, Moimenta da Beira, is now under control. Present at the scene are 248 personnel and 73 vehicles.
The fire at Póvoa de Penela, in the Douro region, is also reported as controlled, with 65 personnel and 16 vehicles on site.
The more concerning incidents remain the fires in Trancoso, with 611 personnel and 207 vehicles present, and in Vila Real, which started a week ago. This fire currently engages 406 personnel and 132 vehicles following a reignition on Saturday.
Further south, the fire that broke out today in Covilhã is being tackled by 420 personnel and 130 vehicles, marking it as the third most significant incident.
The escalation to the highest level of readiness starting at midnight today and extending until 11:59 PM on the 12th is set to include a pre-positioning reinforcement due to the forecasted “significant complexity” of weather conditions during this period.
