A 70-year-old man slipped and fell on a slope Monday morning between D. Ana Beach and Camilo Beach in Lagos, Algarve.
The incident prompted the mobilization of ten operatives and three vehicles to the site, initially alerted to a person’s fall from a cliff. However, this report, made to emergency services by a passerby who witnessed the event, was not confirmed.
The Lagos Port Captaincy of the National Maritime Authority assured Notícias ao Minuto that the elderly man merely slipped on a slope, preventing the situation from becoming more serious.
The man, a foreign national, sustained a minor knee injury and was transported by ambulance to Portimão Hospital for medical attention.
The alert was issued at 11:12 a.m. and was resolved within approximately one hour, with the teams at the scene having already received orders to demobilize.
