
A 27-year-old man was arrested on August 6 in Benfica, Lisbon, on suspicion of robbery, according to a statement from the Public Security Police (PSP).
The law enforcement agency reported that the suspect, after robbing the victim of their belongings, used a broken glass bottle to inflict multiple wounds on the victim’s body, leaving them in serious condition.
The suspect was apprehended in the act shortly after the crime when the PSP received the alert.
The victim was transported to a hospital and needed to be admitted due to the severity of the injuries sustained.
After several days of hospitalization, the victim has been discharged and is now recovering at home.
Meanwhile, the detainee was brought before the competent judicial authority for the initial court hearing and has been remanded in custody with the most severe measure of coercion, pre-trial detention.
