
A collision at a railroad crossing near Poço Barreto, in the municipality of Silves, Faro district, resulted in a disruption of train services between Alcantarilha and Silves stations, according to the Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP).
The emergency services were alerted to the incident at 19:31, following a collision between a train and a light vehicle, which caused two injuries and another individual required assistance.
The two injured were transported to Portimão Hospital, as confirmed by a source from the Algarve Sub-regional Command.
The scene was attended by 17 operatives, supported by seven vehicles, including rescue teams and police forces, according to the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection’s (ANEPC) website.
