A man went missing on Thursday after diving into the Lagoa das Sete Cidades on São Miguel Island in the Azores. The alert was raised at 4:00 PM regarding the 55-year-old man who was with others on a boat when he removed his life jacket and dove into the water.
The man was part of a group of five people camping in the parish of Sete Cidades. On-site are firefighters and divers, along with members of the Public Security Police (PSP).
It is important to note that, according to the Management Plan of the Lagoa das Sete Cidades Basin, swimming and bathing are permitted only in designated and clearly marked recreational bathing areas.
