
A Metropolitan Command of the PSP source reported that on Sunday night, an individual contacted the Sintra division of the PSP to report hearing gunshots. However, upon arrival, the officers could not find any evidence.
Later, at around 1:30 am, a 27-year-old man arrived at the Fernando da Fonseca Hospital (Amadora-Sintra) with a gunshot wound to the knee. The PSP believes this incident is related to the earlier reports.
This marks the fifth such incident within a week.
On Sunday morning, a 19-year-old, shot in the abdomen, was left at the door of the Amadora-Sintra Hospital.
In the early hours of Wednesday, in Cova da Moura (Amadora), a man sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was subsequently transported to the Santa Maria Hospital in Lisbon after receiving immediate care from an INEM team, who classified his condition as serious.
On Tuesday night, two separate shooting incidents occurred. One man was shot in the chest on Estrada Militar and was taken to the Amadora-Sintra Hospital after receiving initial treatment at the scene. Another 23-year-old man was admitted to the same hospital with gunshot wounds to his legs and right arm. The PSP remains uncertain whether these two incidents are connected.
These attempts on life have been reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Judicial Police, who are responsible for investigating such crimes.
