The A7 motorway is currently closed to traffic in both directions in the Fafe area, Braga district, due to a fire that broke out early this morning, according to civil protection officials.
Traffic is halted between Fafe and Basto, in the municipality of Cabeceiras de Basto.
The fire started in São Gens, Fafe, at around 03:45 a.m., and by 08:30 a.m., 65 firefighters, supported by 21 vehicles, were battling the blaze.
