The National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC) recorded 86 incidents between midnight and 6:00 AM today, primarily due to heavy rainfall linked to the depression Claudia, with flooding being the main issue.
The most impacted regions were Greater Lisbon, the Setúbal Peninsula, and the West. Setúbal itself, currently under a red warning—the highest level of alert—due to intense rainfall, accounted for 43 of these incidents.
According to the Portuguese Institute for the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA), the severe weather conditions are expected to persist at least until 9:00 AM.
