Several municipalities in the northern interior, central, and Algarve regions are at a very high risk of rural fires, according to the IPMA.
This risk, determined by the IPMA, is categorized into five levels, ranging from reduced to maximum. The assessment is based on air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and the amount of precipitation in the last 24 hours.
The IPMA forecasts for today in the mainland include mostly clear or slightly cloudy skies, morning cloudiness in the northern and central coastal regions, strong winds in the coastal strip and highlands, a slight decrease in maximum temperature in the interior, a slight increase in the eastern Algarve, and strong maritime agitation on the western coast.
Minimum temperatures will range between 14 degrees Celsius (in Viana do Castelo, Bragança, Vila Real, and Braga) and 19 (in Faro and Castelo Branco) and maximum temperatures between 23 (in Aveiro) and 36 (in Castelo Branco).
