A source from the São Mamede de Infesta Volunteer Firefighters reported their involvement, alongside other units, in transporting bedridden residents from the Coreto D’Amizade care home.
This afternoon, representatives from Social Security, PSP, and the Public Prosecutor’s Office were dispatched to the institution to evacuate approximately 90 elderly residents.
The care home reportedly lacked the necessary operating conditions.
Firefighting units from São Mamede de Infesta, Matosinhos-Leça, Leça do Balio, and Leixões were assigned to assist in the transport of bedridden residents.
Attempts to gather further information from the Porto Metropolitan Command of the PSP were unsuccessful.
