A car accident in the Marquês Tunnel today resulted in one person injured and led to the closure of traffic in the Lisbon-Cascais direction since around 2:50 PM, according to a fire department source.
In a statement made at 5:10 PM, a spokesperson from the Regimento de Sapadores Bombeiros reported that the injured individual is a 36-year-old man who had to be transported to Santa Maria Hospital.
At that time, authorities were still clearing the roadway, and the Lisbon-Cascais direction remained closed due to the presence of the damaged vehicle.
A police source indicated that upon arrival, officers did not find the driver at the scene, and it is unknown whether the person had fled or gone to seek assistance.
