The executive summary of the electoral program from the AD coalition, comprised of the PSD and CDS parties, was reviewed ahead of its presentation by Luís Montenegro, the president of the PSD and current Prime Minister. This event is scheduled to take place at the Lisbon Congress Center.
Among the twenty key measures highlighted are the reduction of the tax burden on incomes, particularly benefiting the middle class, and initiatives to encourage savings.
The program also includes provisions for ensuring the continuation of new initiatives aimed at encouraging young people to settle in the country. These measures include a reduced IRS rate for young individuals, exemptions from the IMT (Municipal Property Tax) and Stamp Duty, and public guarantees for first-time home purchases.
The legislative elections are scheduled for May 18th, occurring just over a year and two months following the previous elections. These elections were necessitated by the resignation of the PSD/CDS-PP government, led by Luís Montenegro, triggered by the parliament’s rejection of a vote of confidence in the executive on March 11th.
