The Institute of Social Security (ISS) announced on Monday that the application process for supplementary financial support for nurseries is open until June 30. This assistance is applicable to institutions operating more than 11 hours daily.
“According to paragraph 1 of Article 6 of Ordinance No. 198/2022, of July 27, it is established that in situations where nurseries need to operate longer than 11 hours daily due to parental needs, supplementary funding will be provided and paid by the Institute of Social Security, I.P. (ISS, I.P.), as established in the Cooperation Commitment for the Social and Solidarity Sector and its addenda,” the ISS stated in a release.
The release further specifies that, as per the law, paragraph 2 of the article states, ‘(…) institutions where such needs are identified must submit a request to the ISS district services, which will confirm them subsequently.’
“Additionally, Ordinance No. 158/2024/1, of June 6, stipulates that whenever duly justified, private nurseries can be included under the rules for supplementary funding stipulated in Article 6 of Ordinance No. 198/2022, of July 27, in its current wording, for situations where due to parental needs, they must operate longer than eleven hours daily,” it states.
The ISS explains that the Nursery Schedule Supplement, as mentioned, should be requested by entities wishing to practice the specified hours starting in September under the following conditions:
The request should be formalized by the entity, through the completion of the applicable request form(s) at the District Center of the nursery’s location, strictly by June 30, 2025, including:
- Form 1 – Request for supplementary funding for nursery operation exceeding 11 hours daily, for IPSS or equivalents with a cooperation agreement;
- Form 2 – Request for supplementary funding for nursery operation exceeding 11 hours daily, for adhering private nurseries with an adhesion agreement.
The ISS also notes that the “failure to submit the requests within the stipulated deadline by entities with a cooperation agreement or an active adhesion agreement will result in the non-granting of this support.”
