“Unfortunately, we did not achieve the main goal, which was to elect a deputy,” stated Bruno Fialho in comments, noting that the party surpassed the threshold of 50,000 votes, allowing it to access the public subsidy entitled to parties for political financing.
The president of ADN considered that the election night result “dispels all doubts about the idea that votes for ADN were by mistake,” referring to a potential confusion between the party’s name, ADN, and the coalition name AD (PSD/CDS-PP).
Bruno Fialho argued that ADN was disadvantaged due to the “tactical voting for AD and Chega” and blamed “misleading polls throughout the campaign that did not make ADN visible.”
According to provisional results released by the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI), the ADN party received 78,914 votes (1.32%), a decrease from the 2024 legislative elections when it secured 102,134 votes (1.65%).
The legislative elections were held on May 18 and were won by the AD – PSD/CDS coalition.
