A cat climbed a four-meter-high tree in Cova da Lapa, in the municipality of Penela, and had to be rescued by local firefighters after losing the “courage” to come down on Friday.
“Today, in the village of Cova da Lapa, adrenaline soared! A small adventurous feline decided to test the limits of gravity and climbed a four-meter-high tree, lacking the courage to descend,” the Penela Firefighters shared on their Facebook page.
After the rescue, the cat was returned to “her relieved owner,” who, the unit noted, “did not hide her smile.”
The feline, however, appeared “slightly indignant at having her climb interrupted” and “seems to be already planning the next adventure.”
The firefighters emphasized that “sometimes, small gestures can make a difference.”
“Whether in major fires or four-legged rescue missions, the Penela Firefighters are always ready, even to save whiskers in distress,” they concluded.
