The Public Security Police (PSP) seized hashish on the night of June 12, sufficient for nearly 1,000 individual doses. The man transporting the drugs is currently on the run.
In a statement released on Monday, the police noted that after noticing an imminent inspection, a vehicle “sped away at high speed to evade police approach.”
“During the escape, the driver adopted dangerous driving practices, nearly hitting a group of about ten people who had to dodge to prevent a collision,” the statement reads.
The suspect, “upon realizing that the police were still in pursuit,” “chose to abandon the vehicle and continue fleeing on foot.”
The suspect has not been captured, and the PSP is continuing investigative efforts to identify him.
“Since the vehicle used in the escape was abandoned and there were strong suspicions that it contained something illegal, the officers conducted a search, finding hashish in quantities sufficient for approximately one thousand doses,” as well as “other elements and objects relevant to the investigation.”
