A parliamentary delegation led by José Pedro Aguiar-Branco includes the President of the National Defense Commission, Pedro Pessanha (Chega), Vice-President of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Portuguese Communities, Elza Pais (PS), and the Vice-Chair of the European Affairs Commission, Ricardo Carvalho (PSD).
During their two-day visit to the capital of the United Kingdom, the delegation participates in a reception with the Portuguese community residing in the UK, visits the Westminster Parliament, where they will have several institutional meetings, including with the Speakers of the House of Commons, Lindsay Hoyle, and the House of Lords, John McFall of Alcluith.
On Tuesday evening, the President of the Assembly of the Republic will attend a reception with members of the Portuguese community residing in the UK at the official residence of the Portuguese ambassador to the UK—the first point of the official program, which will also include a dinner.
On Wednesday, at 09:30, a meeting is scheduled with the Speaker of the House of Commons, Lindsay Hoyle, at Westminster, followed by a meeting with the Speaker of the House of Lords, Lord McFall of Alcluith.
Later that morning, at Westminster, José Pedro Aguiar-Branco will meet with the UK-Portugal Friendship Parliamentary Group and members of the Defense Committee.
He will then attend the plenary session of the House of Commons, with questions posed to the Prime Minister, Keir Starmer.
Following an official lunch in the State Dining Room, he will meet with members of the European Affairs Committee of the House of Lords.
Before returning to Lisbon, also in the UK Parliament, he will attend a presentation on artificial intelligence.
