In the opposite direction, flights will depart from Montreal on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday evenings, arriving in Porto the following morning. This was announced in a recent press release.
The flights will be operated by the airline’s A330-300 fleet, offering both Premium Economy and Economy cabin options.
This new international service, which complements existing flights from Lisbon, is designed to provide customers with easier access to Canada and beyond, while also attracting tourists and business travelers to Portugal and the Iberian Peninsula, according to the statement.
Air Canada’s Sales Director for Spain and Portugal, Jose Antonio Blazquez Ballarin, emphasized the broader scope of this initiative. He stated that it is aimed “not only at customers based in Porto but also those from Galicia and the wider Iberian Peninsula, supporting existing operations in Barcelona, Lisbon, and Madrid.”
The Canadian Ambassador to Portugal, Élise Racicot, also remarked that the new route “will further strengthen the friendship” between the two countries, “bringing communities closer and fostering essential interpersonal and commercial ties” for bilateral relations.
Karen Strougo, the Chief Commercial Officer of ANA|VINCI Airports, noted that the new connection “represents a clear signal of the growing attractiveness” of the region. This development “enhances the connectivity between Porto and North America,” she said, adding that “the return of an airline of Air Canada’s size is also a recognition of the work done by the teams and the route development strategy of ANA | VINCI Airports.”
The first round-trip flights from Porto are priced at 388 euros in Economy class, the statement adds.
