The Portuguese Air Force paid tribute on social media to Pope Francis, who passed away last Monday, April 21, at the age of 88.
In a Facebook post, the military shared several images of the Supreme Pontiff during his visits to Portugal and moments when he was transported by the Air Force.
One of the photos shows Pope Francis inside an Air Force helicopter awaiting a journey.
“It was an honor to have him among us! Farewell, Pope Francis!” the post reads.
The post, which has garnered over 4,000 reactions and 200 comments, has deeply moved many followers of the Portuguese Air Force’s Facebook page. “A person who will never be forgotten and always remembered with affection and longing!” commented one user.
