‘The Life of a Showgirl’ has been officially released.
The new album by Taylor Swift, announced on August 12, was officially launched at midnight on Friday, exciting the internet with its arrival.
The album, comprised of 12 tracks, marks the return of the American artist who holds the title of the most-listened-to singer worldwide.
Swift’s 12th album includes numerous songs that international media report reference her fiancé, American football player Travis Kelce.
Swift’s previous album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ was released in April 2024. The artist also toured on the Eras Tour, performing in Portugal on May 24 and 25 at Estádio da Luz.
The BBC suggests that Swift’s 12th album shows a different story from her last time in the spotlight, when she seemed to be in a downward spiral.
During ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ Swift was in an “emotional purge,” marked by the end of two relationships.
The new album appears to celebrate her relationship with Travis Kelce and her recent success, especially with the globe-spanning, record-breaking Eras tour. Swift previously admitted that this album reveals “the backstage of her life during the tour.”
The album has been declared a success by some publications.
‘The Life of a Showgirl,’ running for 41 minutes, is Swift’s shortest album since her debut in 2006. For this production, she collaborated with Swedish producers Max Martin and Shellback, departing from her previous work with producer Jack Antonoff.
The album also features Sabrina Carpenter, who lends her voice to the title track.
In New York, many fans lined up to ensure they heard ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ on its first day available.
Reactions on social media praise the album as ‘the album of the year,’ with some fans admitting they cried upon hearing it and claimed it would be “impossible to do better.”
Swift announced the new album’s release on a podcast in August.
The announcement was made with the help of her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and his brother, Jason Kelce, in their podcast ‘New Heights.’

In a video shared on Instagram at 12:12 am (5:12 am in mainland Portugal) on her and the podcast’s Instagram pages, Swift, 35, said: “Can I show you something?”
Jason, 37, responded: “Okay. What do you have there? A mint green suitcase with T.S. engraved. What do you have in there?”
“This is my new album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl,'” stated the artist.
