
The direction now led by Miguel Aguiar, deputy to the Secretary of State for the Economy, is committed to executing the European funds of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) with the aim of “consolidating Portugal as one of Europe’s main innovation hubs.”
Furthermore, the leadership intends to “strengthen investment attraction” as well as promote talent and innovation, positioning itself as “a meeting point” for entrepreneurs, investors, and strategic partners.
“Our commitment is to continue the excellent work done, further enhancing closeness to the ecosystem and promoting initiatives that specifically address the needs of Portuguese startups and scaleups,” stated the new president, Alexandre Santos, in a statement.
Startup Portugal is a non-profit organization holding the Public Utility Status (granted by Decree-Law 33/2019 of March 4), with the mission to develop public interest activities to promote entrepreneurship, in close connection with public and private entities operating within the national entrepreneurship ecosystem.
