All districts in Portugal are under a yellow warning today and at least until Wednesday due to heat, according to the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
Given the persistence of high maximum temperature values, the warnings already in effect will extend until 18:00 on Wednesday.
In Madeira, both the southern coast and mountainous regions are also under a yellow warning for the same reason until 18:00 on Tuesday.
A yellow warning is issued when there is a risk for certain activities dependent on meteorological conditions.
Today, IPMA forecasts generally clear skies, stronger winds along the coast and in highlands, particularly in the afternoon, and a slight decrease in maximum temperatures, especially in the western coast south of Cabo da Roca.
Évora will be the hottest city today with 38º Celsius, while Sagres will be the coolest with 24º.
