
The islands of the Western group (Flores and Corvo) are under a yellow warning for “occasional heavy rain” between 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. local time (one hour less in Lisbon) on Friday, as stated in a communiqué from IPMA.
In the Central Azorean group, comprising the islands of Pico, Faial, São Jorge, Terceira, and Graciosa, the yellow warning will be in effect from 8:00 a.m. on Friday until 5:00 a.m. local time on Saturday.
Meanwhile, in the Eastern group islands (São Miguel and Santa Maria), the yellow warning for “occasional heavy rain” is active from 8:00 p.m. local time on Friday until 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
The yellow warning, the least severe on a scale of three, is issued by IPMA whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities dependent on the weather conditions.
