The Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the Public Security Police (Cometlis) conducted several operations from September 20 to 26, focusing on inspections and “foreign citizen controls,” led by the Foreigners and Border Control Unit.
In a communication issued on Monday, 195 foreign citizens were inspected.
“The inspection activities proceeded without incident and without anything to report,” assures Cometlis.
Further details reveal that two men were arrested for being illegally present in the country.
“Following the initial judicial interrogation, one citizen was mandated to be placed in a Temporary Installation Center, and the other was given Identity and Residence terms and required weekly check-ins,” the authorities explain.
Besides these two arrests, “eight voluntary departure notifications from the national territory were issued,” along with three precautionary measures from the Security Information Service and a report for administrative offense.
The communication also states that two notifications were issued to the Agency for Integration, Migration, and Asylum, along with “three reports for administrative offense due to lack of invoice issuance, irregular CCTV, and a smoking ban.”
Additionally, thirteen gaming items were seized, along with 128 counterfeit articles.
Various police and external authorities were involved in the operations, including six Foreign Inspection Brigades of Cometlis, two Police Inspection Brigades of the Lisbon Metropolitan Command, two Foreign Inspection Brigades of DPF/UNEF, seven Rapid Response Teams of the Lisbon Metropolitan Command, and two teams from the Authority for Working Conditions (ACT).
