
The Public Security Police confiscated 4,841 ecstasy pills found inside an abandoned backpack on a bus at Lisbon’s Gare do Oriente on Thursday.
The Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the PSP stated that the seized substance weighed a total of 1,830.15 grams.
The seizure, conducted by the Public Transport Safety Division, occurred at 10:34 a.m. on December 4 and was found in a backpack abandoned “inside a long-distance bus coming from a European Union country.”
The Public Transport Safety Division emphasized in a statement that it “maintains continuous and rigorous surveillance on the public rail and Lisbon Metro transport networks, aiming to ensure the protection and tranquility of passengers and their belongings.”
