Rain is set to linger over mainland Portugal throughout the weekend, as the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has issued a warning for “showers.”
In a statement posted on Facebook, IPMA announced that on Saturday, the sky will be “very cloudy,” and there will be “showers, which could be locally heavy, with hail and accompanied by thunder, especially during the afternoon.”
The wind is expected to be “strong along the western coastal strip and in the highlands,” from late morning until late afternoon.
On Sunday, conditions remain unchanged in the northern and central regions of mainland Portugal. Forecasts indicate “showers that may be locally intense” and could be “accompanied by thunder and, occasionally, hail.”
