Altice Portugal’s revenues accelerate in the 1st quarter. It was 697 million.

Revenues showed a 2.4% increase compared to the same period last year, despite a decline in revenues at Altice Labs, Altice Portugal announced in a statement.

Excluding Altice Labs’ performance, revenue growth accelerated to 7.0% compared to the same period last year, benefiting from increases of 8.4% in the Consumer Segment, primarily driven by the energy business, and 5.3% in the Enterprise Services Segment, explains the owner of Meo.

Earnings before taxes, interest, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) amounted to 244 million euros in the first quarter, a reduction of 5.6% compared to the same period last year.

The company notes that excluding Altice Labs’ performance, EBITDA decreased by 1.4% year-on-year despite the aforementioned revenue growth, due to increases in direct and commercial costs associated with the growth of the Energy customer base, as well as their seasonality.

Investment reached 100 million euros between January and March, an increase of 1.3% compared to the same period last year.

This increase reflects the company’s ambition for the future in a sector facing crucial challenges, such as technological updates, security, expansion, and improving connectivity quality, adds Altice Portugal.

In the quarter under review, the total base of RGUs [Revenue Generating Units], of fixed and mobile services, totals approximately 14 million and the total unique customers in the Consumer Segment amounts to 1.7 million.

The total number of fixed services increased by 0.8% year-on-year to 6 million, and the customer base for subscription television and advanced connectivity services advanced by 1.8% and 2.2%, respectively, both remaining at 1.9 million.

Altice Portugal notes that the postpaid mobile customer base totaled 5.3 million, driven by convergence, and grew by 0.4% (+22,000 customers) in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the fourth quarter of 2024.

At the end of March, Altice Portugal had 6.6 million homes with fiber optics and population coverage of 96.82% for the 5G network and 99.98% for the 4G network.

Approximately 89% of the Consumer Segment’s Fixed Business Customers base technology on fiber optics, reports the owner of Meo.

The revenues of the Consumer Segment rose by 8.4% to 374 million euros, with service revenues increasing by 9.1%, supported by record low churn levels, growth in the fiber and postpaid mobile customer base, and the additional positive contribution of Meo Energia.

The energy business continued to consolidate its role as a strategic pillar of the Altice Portugal ecosystem, with innovative tariff plans and combined telecommunications and energy offers representing synergistic benefits that reinforce Meo Energia’s differentiation in the market, driving rapid customer acquisition, explains the operator.

The revenues of the Enterprise Services Segment rose by 5.3% (excluding Altice Labs) to 323 million euros.

The positive performance of the wholesale business is also noteworthy, driven by a higher volume of national traffic associated with television contests and through infrastructure rentals, including ducts, poles, and technical spaces, as well as international capacity rentals to other operators, the company reports.
