Alves Ribeiro Group will sign a contract to build a hotel at the CCB.

The group emerged as the winner of the international tender for building these modules in December 2024. Subsequently, the contract for the sub-concession of the surface rights for hotel and commercial area construction and operation, lasting 65 years, will be signed on July 15, as announced by CCB.

These modules will feature a hotel with 161 double rooms and an aparthotel with 126 units, along with a shopping center and new services, covering a construction area of approximately 32,500 square meters.

This new area of CCB is set to open in July 2029.

The future revenues from the sub-concession “will allow for enhancing the cultural offerings of CCB, significantly contributing to strengthening the institution’s financial sustainability,” the statement reads.

The Belém Cultural Center Foundation also claims that this “strategic project will provide Lisbon with a new centrality, encouraging residents and visitors to extend their stay in the Belém-Ajuda monumental area.”

Launched in October 2023, the project involves an investment of around 80 million euros.

Pestana Group and construction company Alves Ribeiro were the two companies whose bids were accepted to present construction proposals for CCB Modules 4 and 5, with the latter ultimately winning the tender based on “the most economically advantageous proposal” for CCB.
