
The Municipal Council of Torres Novas in the Santarém district has announced the new season commencing on October 11, with Ana Bacalhau presenting ‘Mundo Antena’ at the Virgínia. The concert, which is free of charge, is set to begin at 9:30 PM.
On Saturday morning at 11:00 AM, the cultural venue will host a performance for children featuring pianist Joana Gama. The concert, ‘As árvores não têm pernas para andar,’ promises numerous stories supported by a “toy piano.”
On October 18 at 9:30 PM, Terra Amarela will present the theatrical project ‘A meio do Tejo.’ On October 25, at 11:00 AM, the Symphonic Band of PSP members will present ‘Palmo e Meio,’ a concert aimed at younger audiences.
Musician Rui Massena will take the Virgínia stage on October 25 at 9:30 PM to showcase his new solo album ‘Parent’s House.’
Concluding the month, Curitiba Cia de Dança (Brazil) will perform ‘Dançando Vila’ on October 31, reflecting the convergence of African, Indigenous, and European traditions within the RHI project.
In November, the Teatro Maior de Idade group debuts the play ‘A vida secreta de Romeu e Julieta’ on the 7th, followed the next day by Circolando presenting ‘Feedback,’ a performance featuring André Braga and João Sarnadas.
On November 15, Margarida Vila-Nova performs in ‘À primeira vista,’ a monologue and legal ‘thriller’ directed by Tiago Guedes. The Alma Mater Orchestra soloists will perform a commented concert on November 16, featuring a repertoire including Borodin, Mozart, Puccini, Shostakovich, and Schubert.
On November 22, Fértil Cultural presents ‘Cordão’ in Torres Novas at 11:00 AM, a theatrical piece for ages three and up. The evening will feature a concert by The Black Mamba.
Concluding November on the 28th, Frankie Chavez and Peixe will present the musical project ‘Miramar,’ with free admission as part of ‘CAixa de sONs.’
December’s program opens with music on the 5th, as Pouca Pena brings their debut album ‘Largo da Memória’ to Virgínia.
On Saturday, December 6, Classic Stage presents the ballet ‘Giselle,’ based on the classic by Adolphe Adam, Saint-Georges, and Théophile Gautier.
Concluding the programming, which also includes weekly cinema sessions throughout the quarter, Teatro Virgínia will host an intimate concert by Paulo de Carvalho, ‘Contar Cantigas,’ featuring voice and piano, on December 13.
