Sandra Maximiano spoke on the second and final day of the 34th APDC congress held at Culturgest in Lisbon, under the theme ‘Business & Science Working Together’.
“It is undeniable that the entry of Digi has brought a new dynamic to the market,” stated the head of the regulatory entity.
The Digi “introduced offers with lower prices and no loyalty requirements, which naturally prompted a response from the established operators, and this, in turn, has generated dynamism in the market, with customer movements seeking to explore and benefit from the new offers,” she continued, noting that it is still “too early to conclude on the evolution of the new market dynamics.”
In a context “where competition is intensifying, at least in some segments, and the range of choices is expanding and becoming more complex, it is essential to ensure that no user is left behind,” she noted.
The regulation “must ensure that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, has real conditions to access, understand, and use electronic communication services,” she argued.
