“I want to make it clear today, as I have told you before, regardless of whether I run for the presidential elections or not and regardless of the outcome: I will run again for president of Chega, because I believe my work is not finished,” announced André Ventura.
This declaration was made by the leader of Chega during the opening speech of the National Council of the party, which is meeting today in Lisbon to discuss the presidential elections early next year.
André Ventura indicated that he had already communicated this decision to the National Directorate and the National Council.
The leader mentioned that the next significant meeting of the party will take place “soon, in the coming weeks or months.”
The last National Convention of the party occurred in January last year, in Viana do Castelo, and the election of the national organs of Chega at that significant meeting was invalidated by the Constitutional Court.
