
During the inauguration ceremony of the Integrated Development Project of Moçâmedes Bay in Namibe province, Ricardo de Abreu stated that the concession competition includes the extension of the railway line to the borders of Namibia and Zambia.
The minister explained that with this initiative, the government ensures the creation of a modern and coherent railway corridor, aiming to leverage the country’s geographical advantages and enhance regional trade competitiveness.
In statements to the press, Angolan President João Lourenço underscored the significance of this competition, intended for a private operator to manage the Moçâmedes Railway. This railway stretches 756 kilometers, connecting the Namibe Port in the city of Moçâmedes to Menongue, the capital of Cubango province.
