The National Diamond Trading Company of Angola (Sodiam) has announced that viewing sessions will take place from the 23rd to the 26th of this month at the company’s headquarters in Luanda. The bidding process, which will be conducted exclusively online, is set to close on June 27 at 10:00 AM local time.
The auction targets clients registered in Sodiam’s database who have expertise in trading special stones. The lots will include 11 stones from the Luele mine, three from Lulo production, two from the Chitotolo mine, and one from Kaixepa production.
This marks the fourteenth diamond auction organized by Sodiam since 2019, with the last one held in March 2025.
In 2024, Sodiam exported approximately 10.2 million carats of rough diamonds, totaling about 1.48 billion dollars (1.3 billion euros), with an average price of 145 dollars (129.8 euros) per carat, establishing Angola as the world’s third-largest producer of rough diamonds in terms of value.
Sodiam, founded in 1999, commercializes productions originating from 27 productions, both kimberlitic and alluvial, covering the full spectrum of qualities in terms of sizes, models, purity, and colors.
